How Monster Nerd uses AI (and how it doesn't)
Most kids who use AI use it for homework, and many have never talked to a grown-up about it. Here, the AI has just one job, and parents stay in charge.
📸 Just one job
The AI reads the notebook photos and builds a summary, outline, flashcards and questions about that content. It doesn't chat freely with your kid.
🧠 No ready-made answers
The app doesn't do the homework for your kid. It asks questions, has them explain things in their own words and shows them where they slipped up.
🏷️ Always labeled
All material shows that it was made by artificial intelligence and may contain mistakes. Kids learn to double-check against their notebook.
🗑️ Photos aren't stored
Photos are used only to create the material. We keep the summary and the questions, never the photo.
🔒 Parents in charge
Parent account, PIN-protected Parent Area, daily time limit and a pause button.
🚫 No ads and no profiling
We don't use your child's data for advertising or to build a consumer profile. Rewards are earned by studying, with no paid loot boxes.
5 AI ground rules to make with your kid
- AI is a computer program, not a person. It can be totally wrong and still sound super sure.
- Double-check with your notebook or ask a grown-up if something seems off.
- Keep your secrets from AI: your full name, address, school or photos of your face.
- Use it to practice, not to copy. Explaining it in your own words is how you really learn.
- Know when to log off. Agree on screen time together, and stick to it (grown-ups too!).
